RANT TIME!!

Ok-So I just read this article and it absolutely infuriates me! As a part of the youth Christian crowd that this article is addressing it makes me sick! I cannot understand how someone who can call them self a Christian can be SO judgmental. Those who are homosexual are not by choice, someone would not simply wake up one morning and decide that they are no longer attracted to someone of the opposite sex. It absolutely pisses me off to hear people argue that homosexuality is a choice and that they do not deserve the same rights as heterosexual couples do. Love is love-love is an unconditional bond between two people- whether they are of the same sex or not and I fully agree with those people that this article is lashing out against.
I am a Christian, but I am not a fundamentalist Christian! I believe that there are some things that are mentioned in the Bible that just cannot be applied to modern life. If you want proof of this read Leviticus in the Old Testament. This is the book that many use against homosexuality-but one can also read in this book that it is a sin to eat blood (blood pudding) and a sin to eat animal fat.  Also in this book it states that "You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud." Leviticus 11  "And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud:it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you" Leviticus 11.
Everything that is said in the Bible cannot be taken literally-and for those who use the Bible-and especially the passage in Leviticus as means to back up their reasonings against homosexuality better not be eating pork! Do not use the Bible to justify your uneasyness with homosexuality. We are all Gods children. God does not judge and nor should you.

Below the article that inspired this lovely rant.

  1. The passage you quoted is used by Jewish folks quite often. Didn't you ever notice they don't eat pork?
